Who are The Electric Cycle Company?

We were established in 2004 & based in Leith, Edinburgh - very close to the Royal Yacht Britannia & Ocean Terminal.

We are set up to market Electric Bicycles to suit all needs – but we only sell what we are happy with in the way of quality & price.

Why buy an electric bike from us?

We are in business for the long haul unlike companies who only sell online and provide little backup once you have parted with your cash.

We run the Electric Bike business along with our other business which has been established for over 23 years, both being family businesses.

We will look after you as a customer, service and maintain your electric bike (We are an approved service centre for Powabyke – only one of two in Scotland).

We have a range of demonstrator bikes which we are more than happy to let you try so that whatever you buy meets your needs.

Your custom is important to us as we grow and the electric bike market grows.

Why buy an electric bike?

Our Electric Bikes are classed as pedal cycles with no requirement for Driving Licence, insurance or Road Tax and are legal for use on British & European Roads. (Some bikes are also fitted with an off road mode).

On a single battery charge some electric bikes can travel up to 30 miles (on pedal assist mode) with a maximum permitted speed of 15mph under power.

With ever increasing fuel costs and a growing trend towards environmentally friendly products, electric bikes are an extremely cost effective method of transport.

Traffic congestion can be avoided often getting to your destination quicker than by public transport and parking charges are eliminated.

A good way to get exercise without the difficulty of hills head winds etc and a mucheasier ride for people with health problems.

Folding bikes are suitable for cyclists who wish to park & ride, can be folded in seconds and batteries charged up for the return journey if necessary.
